Victory Over The Enemy

Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Bottom line: Man’s problem is sin. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Satan’s goal is to spiritually destroy as many people as he can. He does this by taking advantage of the sin nature we are all born with.

In the heart of every human being is their desire to please God. We are all created with this longing in our hearts. Also He has put eternity in their hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Therefore, while we all are prone to sin, we have the inner desire to love God and live our lives in a manner pleasing to Him. Therein lies the conflict in every human being. It is an inner struggle between our flesh and our longing to please God.

God knows this! That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to go to the Cross of Calvary! He made the Sacrifice that God required to Atone for all our sins. The Apostle Paul wrote on this subject to the various churches in the region. His Letter to the Colossians spells it out perfectly! And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

Whatever sin we deal with, Jesus nailed it to the Cross! Period! It doesn’t matter what it is or how bad it is. All sin comes from Satan and is meant to destroy us. Jesus came to defeat all the power of Satan so that we might not have to live defeated lives. This is the VICTORY we have because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary.

He did it all and He did it for YOU! When we maintain our faith in His Finished Work on the Cross, Satan will have no hold on us. Yes, he will plant thoughts in our minds, but we have the power and ability to cast those thoughts out and bring our minds into obedience to God and His Commandments. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Our faith in Christ Crucified gives us the Power of God to rebuke and cast out every attack of the enemy. Satan was defeated on the Cross by Jesus. Victory over sin was accomplished on that day. Satan has no hold on us when we understand and believe in all that Jesus did on our behalf.

Jesus did all the work. It has been done and Satan cannot undo it. He can lie to us and try to deceive us, but when we know the Truth of the Power in the shed Blood of Jesus over Satan, he does not stand a chance in our lives. So………...what do you believe today? In what do you place your faith? If you want Victory over sin and all the attacks of Satan, place your faith in the Victory Jesus won for you. That Victory was accomplished and completed by His shed Blood on the Cross of Calvary.

He paid the price so you can live the life; life more abundantly right here on earth! Hallelujah!

Jesus went to the Cross to………..turn the tide
