1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;
As Christians we will never come to the place where Satan stops tempting us. Everyone is tempted by the enemy on a continuous basis. This is what he does. It doesn’t matter how much God uses us in ministry, we are still tempted by the Devil.
The greatest, most powerful ministers of the Gospel have all been tempted by Satan and many have fallen into sin. Others have ongoing problems in their live such as alcoholism, addiction, unforgiveness, bitterness, envy, and gluttony, just to name a few. Despite their issues, God continues to use them to build His Kingdom.
The fact is, God uses people. He has always used people but there are no perfect people. We are all sinners and we all struggle with things. This is why Peter wrote Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; (1 Peter 4:12) It’s not strange when Satan attacks us. Rather, it’s an every day occurrence and many others are experiencing the same thing or worse.
Our response to these attacks is the question at hand. How do we respond? Peter went on to say but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His Glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:13) If there was no attack of Satan, Jesus would not have had to go to the Cross.
Jesus went to the Cross to defeat the power of Satan in our lives. When we understand this and place our faith in what Jesus accomplished there, we will have victory over sin and be able to stand against the temptation of Satan.
The battle is over! Jesus won the Victory for us. All we have to do is never lose sight of that fact. Never stop believing in all that Jesus did for you on the Cross. He shed His perfect Blood to pay the price for your soul. Because of His Sacrifice, you can spend eternity in Heaven.
He also defeated all power of the enemy in our lives now! This is the Abundant Life He spoke of in John 10:10. So, don’t think it’s strange when Satan tempts you. It’s not strange. You should expect it. It’s your response that will make all the difference. Respond in faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Put Satan under your feet where he belongs. Tell him to get out of your life because you know that Jesus won this fight 2,000 years ago on the Cross of Calvary.
Claim your Victory. Walk in your Victory! Never lose sight of all that Jesus did for you.
Jesus went to the Cross to……….turn the tide……..in your life.
Walking in Victory!
