We Will Give Account

Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the Eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

New Covenant Salvation is not based on what we do. No one can work hard enough to gain their Salvation. Nor can anyone pay enough money to be Saved. We are Saved by the Grace of God through our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross. For by Grace you have been Saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Unfortunately, many people are still trying to work their way or buy their way to Heaven. These people do not understand the New Covenant. The churches are full of people like this. There are also people who believe that once they profess their belief in Jesus, it doesn’t matter what they do or how they live their lives. These people don’t understand the New Covenant either.

Jesus addressed these issues in the Sermon on the Mount and the Apostle Paul wrote many letters to various churches on this subject. Jesus said, Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the Will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name? And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! (Matthew 7:21-23)

The Apostle Paul wrote I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outburst of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:16-21)

It’s obvious by these Passages of Scripture that our lifestyles absolutely make a difference. It does matter what we do. It does matter how we live our lives after we are Saved. The fact is that we cannot live good lives to be Saved. Rather, we live good lives BECAUSE we are Saved.

A wise person would check their faith and check the list of sins listed in Galatians 5. If you don’t know what some of the words mean, look them up. We will all stand before Jesus one day and give account. Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
