What A Day!
February 2, 2022, 3:00 AM

Acts 1:9 And when Jesus had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

In the first eight Verses of the Book of Acts, Luke describes the last happenings and Words of Jesus prior to His Ascension. There were over 500 people there that day and they all watched and listened as Jesus taught them about how the Church was to now operate. Then the Word of God says: And when Jesus had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)

Can you imagine being there that day? Many of these people had been witnesses to the Ministry of Jesus. They watched while He touched people and Healed them or cast demons out of their lives. They were there when He was Crucified on the Cross and buried in the tomb. They knew Mary Magdelene and Jesus’ mother, Mary. They were friends with Peter, John, and all the other Disciples. They had visited with Jesus’ brothers, James and Jude. And now, some 500 of them were gathered together to witness Jesus appearing to them after He was Buried, and Resurrected. These folks had the opportunity to listen to Jesus give them instructions for His Church under the New Covenant! What a privilege to be among that crowd of believers that day!

But that wasn’t all! What happened next was truly AMAZING! As they all stood there, Jesus Ascended up into the sky! He disappeared into a cloud and out of their sight! Some five hundred people witnessed this! Oh, to be there that day.

It was not God’s Plan for us to be there that day. His Plan is for us to be here today and to believe in His Son and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus’ instructions for His Church to the 500 still stand for us today. His last Words to them are His Words to us. The instructions He gave His Followers that day still pertain to His Followers today.

In His last Words to His Followers, Jesus spoke mostly of the Holy Spirit and how important it is for us to have Him in our lives. Without the Holy Spirit there is virtually nothing done for God. Sadly, many believers cast off the Work and Power of the Holy Spirit. These people have made a huge mistake and will answer for it one day. I pray you are not among them.

If you have disregarded the Holy Spirit, today is the day of Repentance. Go to the Father in the Name of Jesus and ask to be forgiven for this sin. Seek the Power and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is sitting at the Right Hand of the Father making intercession for you right now. He will hear your prayer and ask the Father to forgive you and fill you with the Holy Spirit. God will grant you this request because He wants you to be a Powerful witness in the Church. This is His Will for all of us. Ask and you shall receive.

Ask and God will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Thank you Lord for the Holy Spirit Power in my life,         Doreen
