What A Teammate

Isaiah 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that that may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Yesterday, I shared with you God’s Plan and Purpose for my husband, Jack. After Jack’s tragic death, God allowed me to see why it all happened and you can read about it in the Morning Message dated August 26, 2023.

God has a Plan for each of us and sometimes we have to go through some very difficult things for His Plan to play out. And so it was with me. Five days after Jack and I had arrived in Oklahoma from California, he was tragically killed. I didn’t have a house to live in or a husband to rely on but God wasted no time in showing me that He had a Plan and it would be good if I would just trust Him.

You see, Jack and I were a team; we did everything together. We worked together at our lumber yard, our cattle ranch, and our catering business. We built houses, barns, fences, and everything else, together. We were a team.

Now, my teammate was gone. How could I go on alone? Who would help me? Who would take the lead and make the decisions? Within two weeks of Jack’s death, God answered all these questions. He said, “Yes, Jack has been a good teammate. You and he worked hard and accomplished a lot in thirty years. Now, I will be your teammate and I will be far, far greater than Jack ever was. Don’t worry, just trust me.”

He then led me to Isaiah 54:5 And your Maker shall be your husband. I took God at His Word and placed my full faith and trust in Him. I had a new husband and teammate and He is Perfect in every way.

It’s been twenty years since then and look what the Lord has done! He has built a Ministry here on this ranch that is second to none. He has performed so many Miracles that I couldn’t begin to write them. I have the opportunity to watch God change people’s lives literally, right before my eyes. Week after week people come from far and near to bask in the Presence of the Holy Spirit and receive what they need.

Yes, I suffered a horrible loss in the tragic death of Jack. Yes, it was hard, very hard but, God had a Plan and as I surrendered all that I had to Him and His Plan, He has been faithful to give me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (Isaiah 61:3)

What a teammate! What a husband! What a Savior! What a Miracle Worker! He is everything I could ever ask for or hope for. And so, as hard as it may be for some to understand, I give God thanks for taking Jack. Out of his tragic death, many people have come to Christ, been Healed and Delivered. It’s not about us. It’s all about the Kingdom of God. In everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

God has a Plan for your life.

Trust Him and He will…...….turn the tide……….in your world.

What an awesome God we serve!         Doreen
