John 14:6 I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me.

We learned yesterday that Faith is the answer to all our problems. We also learned that Faith is obtained through the hearing of God’s Word. (Romans 10:17) Faith in what? That is the next question.

It is not enough to say, Faith in God because all religions believe in “god.” Muslims believe Mohamed to be god. Buddhists believe Buddha is god. Sikhs believe in ten gurus of god. There are many others, but suffice it to say, they all believe in “god.” Basically, they believe there is a superior being and they call it, “god.”

Money and material goods is “god” to many people. Education is “god” to some while success and power is “god” to others. Anything that we worship or place our faith in, is our “god.” The very first Commandment God gave us is: You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:3)

While some people today say that the Old Testament does not apply to New Testament believers, allow me to share with you what the Lord Jesus Christ said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great Commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38) When you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, there is no room or place for any other “gods.”

As Christians, we believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who died on the Cross of Calvary for the remission of our sins. He willingly laid down His Life so we can be Saved, Healed and Delivered. These three areas of His Ministry are still in affect today. Unfortunately, many Christians only have faith to believe in the first one. They are Saved and that’s all. This means they are not going to Hell when they die. They have faith to believe this part, but that’s all they have faith to believe. Why? Because that’s all they have ever heard preached and that’s all they know. What a pity!

When I am approached by people with this belief, I ask them one simple question: What is Abundant Life Jesus spoke about? I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Many believe this to be speaking of eternity in Heaven, but I beg to differ. It’s obvious that life in Heaven will be abundant. Jesus would not have to die for Heaven to be a place of abundant life. That doesn’t make any sense at all.

He had to be speaking of this life; our natural lives we live here on earth. So, what is included in Abundant Life? The simple answer to that question is: Abundant Life is anything and everything YOU personally have the faith to believe for. Wow!

How do we gain more faith to believe God for greater things? This brings us right back to where we were yesterday! So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) The Word of God produces faith. The more you read and study the Word, the more faith you will have in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. He is the One Who died on the Cross so we can have Abundant Life. Our faith must be in His Finished Work on the Cross.
