Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares provides an accurate picture of the Church today. There are many people sitting in churches every Sunday but are not truly saved and born again. Likewise, there are others who fellowship with believers and profess to be Christians, but are not. As one commentator said, “They profess but they do not possess.”
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?” He said to them, “An enemy has done this.” The servants said to him, “Do you want us then to go and gather them up?” But he said, “No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matthew 24-30)
My friends, we are in the last of the Last Days. Jesus is coming back for His Bride; the Church. As this parable states, Satan sows tares among the wheat. God allows the tares to grow alongside the wheat. This speaks to people and doctrine. In every Church, we find those who are not truly Saved and those who teach false doctrine. Both are tares and both will be burned in the end.
Church attendance and other religious activities do not equal Salvation. However, when one is truly Saved, they will attend Church and do good work for the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, You shall know them by their fruit. (Matthew 7:16) This speaks to the Fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22)
Question for today: Are you a wheat or a tare?
The Word of God will…...….turn the tide……..in your life.
Praise God for His Word! Doreen
