Wheat And Tares Explained

Matthew 13:43 Then the Righteous will shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

For the past two days, we have been discussing the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares. Jesus spoke this Parables to the multitudes of people who were gathered by the seaside. After that, He and His Disciples went to Peter’s house to rest. While they were there, His Disciples asked Him to explain the Parable.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His Disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the Parable of the tares of the field.” He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the Angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His Angels, and they will gather out of His Kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the Righteous will shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!’ (Matthew 13:36-43)

The good seed is the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God. (John 1:14) Therefore, Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest. This Parable is not only for the Jews but the Church which was not yet in existence. The good seed also refers to all true believers in Jesus and the Word of God.

The tares are the children of the wicked one, who is Satan. These people have made their way into the Church and cause destruction. They profess to be believers in Jesus but actually are ministers of the Devil.

The harvest is the end of this age and the time of the Judgment. The reapers are the Angels who will come back with Jesus and all the truly redeemed Saints at the Second Coming of Christ. This is a separate event from the Rapture of the Church. The Second Coming will be some years after the Rapture.

At that time, the tares (bad seed) will be burned up in the fire where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. This will take place at the Great White Throne Judgment. (Revelation 20:11-15)

The Righteous seed (wheat) will shine forth in the Kingdom of God with Jesus Christ, their Lord and Savior. This speaks of the Millennial Age (also known as the Kingdom Age) which will last 1,000 years. During this time Jesus will be King over the entire world. He will reign from Jerusalem. (Revelation Chapters 21-22)

We will study this more tomorrow but please understand that every Prophecy in the Bible either has, or will come to pass. What you read above is the Words of Jesus Christ. Believe it because it is true. Examine your heart. Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Trust me, you do not want to be counted among the tares.

Jesus went to the Cross……..….turn the tide……….in your life.

Thank you Lord!         Doreen
