Who Is Jesus?

Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our Fathers, has glorified His Son whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you.

Peter seized the opportunity to speak to the people who had just witnessed the Miracle Healing of the crippled beggar at the Temple. They were all amazed at what they had just seen and Peter wasted no time in expounding on the situation.

There were thousands there that day. God wanted them all to come to faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Most Jews were so indoctrinated in the Law they couldn’t bring themselves to learn anything new. So, Peter tied the new to the old. He explained that what they had just witnessed wasn’t anything new or done by another god. Their God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God of their Fathers did this!

What He had done in the past and had spoken through the Prophets of Old, He just did again and they all saw it with their own eyes! They couldn’t deny it. They had to believe it. But would they believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God; their Messiah? That would remain to be answered.

Peter then reminded them that Jesus is God’s Son and that it was them who denied Him in the presence of Pilate, who wanted to release Jesus. They were guilty and Peter told them all about it.

They knew they had done this horrible thing. There was no doubting it. They chanted “Crucify Him” while, at the same time, they demanded a murderer be set free. They simply did not believe Who Jesus was.

Unfortunately, this is the position of most of the world today. They do not believe Jesus was and is, the Son of God Almighty; the Messiah. They may believe He walked the earth and was a good man who performed Miracles, but they don’t believe anymore.

Jesus plainly stated Who He was. He said He was the fulfillment of the Prophecies of Old and the Promises of God. The Book of John is filled with His Statements about His identity. Read them for yourself. Go to the Book of John and read John 14:5-11; 15:26; 16:14-15; 16:28; 17:1-3; and 20:28.

To be a true born-again Christian, one must believe in Who Jesus is. He is the Son of the Living God. Do you believe it?

Believe and God will….….turn the tide ……..in your life.

I believe,         Doreen
