A Change Of Heart

Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not My Law; but let your heart keep My Commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you.

One thousand years before Jesus Christ was born, Solomon wrote a set of extremely wise sayings. We know them as the Proverbs, and they are instructions as to how to live for God. Everyone, saved or not, would be well served to read these and live their life according to them. Take a moment to imagine how different our world would be if people lived and conducted their lives according to the Book of Proverbs.

People seek to live long lives and spend most of their days in search of peace. The world is at war. People are killing each other. Hate is rampant. There is little peace to be found anywhere BECAUSE the Word of God has been forgotten and His Commandments no longer heeded.

No matter what anyone says, this is still God’s world. He created it and everything in it, and He is still in control. His Commandments still stand, whether people choose to obey them or not. He is the giver of life and the purveyor of peace. Without Him, there is neither. What we are witnessing around the world today is life without God.

America has always been different because we have lived according to the Word of God. There is a faction in our country that wants to see everything we stand for torn down and thrown away.

However, God’s Promises still stand! He will not go back on a single Promise, and in the First Verse of the Third Chapter of Proverbs, we find a beautiful Promise of God. My son, forget not My Law; but let your heart keep My Commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you. He promises long life and peace to those who do not forget His Law and keep His Commandments. Every answer the world is seeking can be found in God’s Word. The Church is supposed to know this! Why are we looking everywhere else for the answers?

We study the writings of well-known philosophers and the words of other famous people, but we have put down the greatest source of wisdom there is: the Word of God. My friends, if you don’t read anything else, read Proverbs, and read them over and over again. Don’t just read them, study them, and apply them to your daily life. Live your life according to them.

As you read and study these Words of Wisdom, you will begin to memorize them. They will become embedded in your heart, and you will never forget them. What we have in our heart controls what we say, how we respond to situations, and all our actions.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. (Matthew 12:35)

The Word of God still changes the hearts of people. Allow your heart to be changed by the Word of God.

When God’s people turn back to Him, He will ……..turn the tide

Praying for a change of heart,     Doreen
