A Word For The Wives

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

There are many aspects to God’s Plan, and Order for marriage, and every one is extremely important. For a marriage to be successful, productive, and long-lasting, every aspect of God’s Plan needs to be not only considered but adhered to. God's Plan is not made up of suggestions. God's Plan is the Way we are to live and conduct our lives.

In regard to marriage, in the last couple of days, we have talked about mutual, unwavering love for each other, and that each is to submit to the other. God intends for married couples to be a team. Each with their own God-given gifts, abilities, and talents, they should lift each other up in full support as long as the activities of their spouse are in line with God’s Word.

Every team has a leader, and it is God’s Plan that the husband be the head of the household. This does NOT diminish the intelligence or importance of the wife in any way. A wise wife is one who builds her husband up and adores him as the Church adores Christ.

This is not always easy because while Christ is perfect and we can never find fault with Him, that’s not the case with any man. All people will fail and fall short at times, but just as Christ intercedes for the Church, spouses are to intercede for each other. God forgives us when we repent, and married couples are to do the same; forgive each other when they repent. This is only possible by the Grace of God.

A wise wife is one who prays constantly for her husband. She does not pray that he will see things her way, but that he will see things God’s Way and be obedient to God’s Word and the Holy Spirit's direction in his life. Then he will be able to lead his household in an upright manner.

A woman could not ask for more than a husband who seeks the Will of God in his own life and for his family, feeds off the Word of God, and follows the leading of the Holy Spirit in every decision he makes. Any wife would be happy to submit to her husband when he operates in this manner.

Wives, pray for your husband. Seek the Lords Will in his life. Build him up. Support him in his Godly journey in life. Forgive him when he fails and trust the Lord to guide his every step. He has important decisions to make for you and your family. Tell him you trust him because you know he is reading God’s Word, praying, and listening for the Direction of the Holy Spirit.

Allow him to lead your household. That’s the way God planned and ordered marriage. When you take the lead, you are out of order. God’s Plan and Order stands today. We would all be well advised to live our lives accordingly.

God’s Order will..........turn the tide
