Romans 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;
God does not intend for His people to be destructive or miserable. His Will is for His people to live an abundant life filled with the Fruit of the Spirit, which is, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
If you go to church, you probably know some pretty miserable, destructive Christians. The churches are full of people like this. They are miserable, and they do everything they can to make your life miserable as well. Can these people really be saved?
Yes, they can be. To be saved is to believe in what Jesus did on the Cross at Calvary. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
People in this condition know and believe in what Jesus did, but they have no knowledge of the spiritual warfare that is raging in their own lives, robbing them of the abundant life Jesus died for them to enjoy. All they have is “fire insurance.” Due to their belief, they are not going to Hell when they leave this earth, but they are living a Hell on earth existence here and now.
Jesus said, The enemy comes but to kill, steal and destroy, but I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10) Abundant life on earth is NOT a life of destruction and misery. The only way to live and enjoy the abundant life is to walk with the Spirit and be led by Him. Jesus lived, died, rose again, and sent the Holy Spirit so every believer can live a Spirit-filled, abundant life on earth and spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
Miserable Christians have taken the first step and received Salvation. They believe and they are going to Heaven when they die, but they do not understand what is available to them here in this life. If they did, they would accept it as the free gift that it is and give themselves over to the leading of the Holy Spirit who will lead them into all Truth and bless them with a life filled with the Fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
This is what it means to be born again and filled with the Spirit. Jesus did not come and shed His Precious Blood on the Cross so His people could live miserable lives waiting to die and go to Heaven. He came that we may have life and have it more abundantly.
Only Jesus can……..turn the tide
