Habakkuk 3:14-15 You did strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter Me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly. You did walk through the sea with Your Horses, through the heap of great waters.
As the Lord brings the Vision to a close in the mind's eye of Habakkuk, God reminds him of His greatness and power. In the Vision, God refers to the victory over the five kings who were attacking God's people. The armies of five kings came upon Gibeon like a whirlwind in an attempt to scatter them, and the Word says the enemy rejoiced as they sought to devour the poor in secret. BUT, when God's people sought the help of Joshua, the victory was won!
All this happened in the year 1491 B.C. The Lord God brought it to the remembrance of Habakkuk 800 years later. History is so important. What God did then, He can and will do again. This Vision is both a history lesson and a Prophesy. I believe it is for God's people again today.
God's people consist of the Jews and the Christians. We are all under severe attack from all sides today. Even our own people are coming against us in America. This is partially due to false teaching from the pulpits in this nation, but that is a discussion for another day. The fact is, there are many people groups in the world today that would love to see every Jew and Christian destroyed from the face of the earth. They have declared all-out war against the Kingdom of God.
War is raging but how are God's people responding? Are we banding together and calling on the Mighty Name of Jesus and the Power of God? Or are we hiding in the basements of our churches and synagogues? Unfortunately, many are hiding because they have been misinformed and uneducated as to the Power of God Almighty through the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus gave us this power Himself! Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19) We have been given the Power, but how many are actually acting on that Power? It's time to be "doers" of the Word, not just hearers.
In 1491 B.C., when God's people came under the attack of the five kings, they sent for Joshua and said, "Slack not your hand from your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us." Joshua heard their cry, and he came. He defeated all five kings! The Bible says it was a great slaughter! The Lord used hailstones to kill more than were slain by the army. God was on their side, and when they called on Him, He responded with a force unlike any other!
Joshua is the Hebrew word for Jesus. Joshua was a foreshadowing of Christ. The battle of 1491 B.C. was actually a Prophecy of future battles against God's people and Jesus Himself. Throughout history, the people of God have come under attack. However, when God's people call on His Name, He responds in kind.
He will do the same today if His people, who are called by His Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek His Face and turn from their wicked ways. (2 Chronicles 7:14) God can easily turn the tide in America and around the world. He is waiting for His people to be obedient.
Oh! How I pray for God's people to wake up, UNITE TOGETHER, and turn back to Him as ONE CHURCH! A divided house shall not stand. The Church today is divided, and it is crumbling as the Lord God Almighty stands ready to rescue all of us. Until then, we will suffer continued judgment and persecution.
When we act in obedience, He will...........turn the tide
Praying, Doreen
