Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Death is the doorway to life. For the new man to live, the old man must die. Jesus gave His life to make this possible for all who choose to believe. By the Mercy of God, the old man in us can die to sin. Then we can live the Abundant Life Jesus spoke about in John 10:10. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.
The only way to live the new life is for the old life to die. Our old man was crucified with Christ on the Cross. This is a true, historical fact whether people believe it or not. When you understand this fact and believe it with all your heart, then you can begin to act on that belief. This is what we call having faith in Christ Crucified. It’s not just about believing that it happened but that He did this for YOU!
At that point, you can look at life totally differently. You are no longer the old man driven by sin because you know and believe that your old man was crucified with Christ. Paul wrote Sin shall not have dominion over you. (Romans 6:11)
Prior to our Salvation, sin rules us. It has total dominion over us. We can’t help it. You don’t have to teach a little child to lie or steal. They do it automatically because they are dominated by the sin nature they were born with. However, when they are saved and born again, they then have the Divine Nature of God also alive and operating in them. Herein lies the struggle we all have between right and wrong.
We must choose which nature we are going to live for; the sin nature or the Divine Nature of God. If the old man is dead, let him stay dead. Stop digging him up. Let him remain dead. Pray for God to make the Divine Nature in you so strong that you care nothing about the sin nature. This is the Miraculous Work of the Holy Spirit within each of us.
God wants to do this for us, but we have to give ourselves over to Him. Whatever your struggle is, Jesus died for it on the Cross. Declare it dead and yourself alive IN Christ! Righteousness and Holiness are the Divine Nature and these are your portion. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) Hallelujah!
Jesus died to……….turn the tide……..in your life!
Alive in Christ! Doreen
