Almost Harvest Time

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares provides an accurate picture of the Church today. Every week we read where another Pastor of a church has fallen into sin. Jesus told us that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10) He is not coming after the lost people of this world. He already has them. He is coming after those in the Church; God’s people.

We discussed this Parable yesterday but didn’t have room on the page to print it out in its entirety. The following is the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares as recorded by Matthew in his Gospel.

Another parable He put forth to them, saying:The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?” He said to them, “An enemy has done this.” The servants said to him, “Do you want us then to go and gather them up?” But he said, “No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matthew 13:24-30)

It is evident that we are in the last of the Last Days. Jesus is soon coming back for His Bride; the Church. As this parable states, Satan sows tares among the wheat. God allows the tares to grow alongside the wheat. This refers to both people and doctrine. In every Church, we find those who are not truly Saved and those who teach false doctrine. Both are tares and both will be burned in the end.

The question for today is the same as it was yesterday: Are you a wheat or a tare?

The Word of God will…...….turnthetide……..in your life.

I praise God for His Word!         Doreen
