Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, not perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside You, what He has prepared for him who waits for Him.
The other day we discussed God’s use of numbers in Scripture References. We found this Promise of God in Isaiah 46:4,Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
We referred to this as a “10-4, over and out” Promise of God. The Scripture Reference is Chapter 46, (4 + 6 which adds to 10) and Verse, 4, making it, 10-4. This Promise of God is said and done with nothing needing to be added to it. It is complete in every sense, and so we say, “10-4, over and out.”
Today we have another “10-4, over and out” Passage. The numbers are exactly the same only in a different order. This time we have Chapter 64 which still adds to 10, followed by verse 4. Again, we have a “10-4” Passage which is a fact that has been since the beginning of the world and will continue until Jesus comes back in the Second Coming.
This Scripture states, people just don’t hear or see God in their lives. Therefore, they don’t have a clue what God has prepared for them if they will just WAIT on Him. It’s always been this way.
It is so easy to get ahead of God. The moment we think we have a Word from the Lord, we take off running. I have been incredibly guilty of this in my lifetime. I am a productive person and I like to see things completed so it’s not in my nature to wait on anyone. However, at this time in my life, I am learning to wait on the Lord, but it is still not easy for me.
This Passage also speaks to the fact that from the beginning of the world men have not understood God’s Redemption Plan through the Birth, Death and Resurrection of His Son, Jesus. The entire Bible is the story of Jesus and God’s Plan through Him. He can be found in every story and account from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21.
Many people have set out to prove Jesus, but it cannot be done. These are the people whose study have resulted in incredible faith in Who Jesus was, What He did and Where He is at this time. Many have been so moved by their findings, they have written books. Attorney, Lee Strobel is one such individual. His wife got saved and he set out to study the Bible to prove her faith false. Needless to say, it didn’t turn out that way. Try as he could to build a case against faith in Christ, his study resulted in his book titled, A Case For Christ! Mr. Strobel discovered it to be an iron-clad, cut and dry case with no room to refute it. It’s a great read for anyone who doubts Jesus and this book would make an excellent Christmas present!
Given the human nature of man, we will never be able to fully understand what the Lord has for us in this lifetime. That is a fact. It doesn’t mean we don’t WANT to understand, but it does mean that we don’t have the capacity to understand it. That’s what makes this Passage a “10-4, over and out” Scripture. There has never been a human being, other than Jesus Christ, who fully understoodGod has for them.
Everyday as we seek Him more and read His Word again and again, He reveals more to us. We can never learn all there is to know or experience all that He has for us. That’s what makes living for Christ so exciting! As soon as we think it couldn’t get any better, He overwhelms us again with something more!
Things may look bleak and grim right now, but God is at work! He is working behind the scenes in the Spirit realm making changes we cannot even imagine. With that said, we must operate every day in faith in what God is able to do, which is anything and everything!
He is able to……..turn the tide
10-4 once again, amazed! Doreen
