Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
America’s Constitution and Bill of Rights are based solely on Biblical Principles. In response to your request, the following is a list of Principles representing life and government in America and some Passages of Holy Scripture that coincide with it.
All people are created equal. For God shows no partiality. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Romans 2:11) The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the maker of them all. (Proverbs 2:22)
The concept of Natural Law. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1:31) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:17)
The unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. You shall not murder. (Exodus 20:13) Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; (Jeremiah 1:5) For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13) I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; (Ecclesiastes 3:12)
The monogamous family unit. But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. (1 Corinthians 7:2) Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. (Hebrews 13:4)
The laws of Morality. The Ten Commandments of God (Exodus 20:3-17) If you love Me, keep My Commandments. (John 14:15)
The ownership and rights of Private Property. And spend the money for whatever you desire—oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household. (Deuteronomy 14:26) But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15) Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. (Genesis 13:2) But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8)
The right to a Fair and Speedy Trial. Whoever will not observe the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily on him, whether it be death, or banishment, or confiscation of goods, or imprisonment. (Ezra 7:26) You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. (Deuteronomy 16:18)
No Conviction without two or three witnesses. On the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses the one who is to die shall be put to death; a person shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness. (Deuteronomy 17:6) A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established. (Deuteronomy 19:15) This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. (2 Corinthians 13:1)
Punishment that fits the crime. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. (Genesis 9:6) Your eye shall not pity: life shall be for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. (Deuteronomy 19:21)
Three Branches of Government. For the Lord is our judge, The Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; He will save us—(Isaiah 33:22)
Republican form of Government. Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens. (Exodus 18:21)
What you have just read is a mere sampling of Scriptures to justify our culture, life, and government in America. These Principles can be found throughout our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence. We have drifted off course as a country. Let us pray Americans will once again see the Light, repent, and return to our Foundation: The Holy Word of God.
Divine Intervention is our only Hope. Only God can……..turn the tide
