Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares.
Throughout the Word of God, we read about Angels. God created all the Angels at one time and uses them as He sees fit. No one really knows when God created them but we do know that it was prior to the creation of mankind. The Word of God refers to them as ministering spirits. Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)
Nor do we know how many Angels there are but we read in Revelation 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the Voice of many Angels round about the Throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; In the Greek language, “ten thousand” is the greatest number expressed. In the above Scripture, we find a quadruple plural which would lead us to believe that the number of Angels is beyond our ability to count. The original translation says “myriads of myriads” which would indicate an innumerable amount.
We also know that Angels have free-will because Lucifer (the most beautiful and talented Angel) succumbed to the demonic spirit of pride and was banished from Heaven. At that time one-third of the remaining Angels joined him and are still at work today to destroy the Kingdom of God.
If one-third left Heaven to join Lucifer (now Satan), two-thirds of all the Angels ever created still work for God Almighty on our behalf! God never runs out of Angels to minister to us and they do not only bring us Messages from God but they are also sent to protect us in times of danger. For He shall give His Angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. (Psalms 91:11)
In the 5th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read that an Angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and let the Apostles out and told them to return to the Temple and continue to teach the people. But at night an Angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go, stand in the Temple and speak to the people all the Words of this life.” (Acts 5:19-20) This Angel was given instructions by God and he fulfilled his mission. Apparently, all the Apostles saw the Angel and heard the Angel which gave them the faith and strength to go right back to the Temple and continue with their ministry to the people.
As we shall see tomorrow, this changed the entire atmosphere of the situation! I believe this happens today but many times we don’t recognize Angels when they are in our midst. The Word of God tells us to Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:2)
God is for us. He wants to help us. He sends His Angels to guard us and bring messages of strength and hope to us. We can expect God to do this for us because His Word says He will. And so I say to you today If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
Praise God we can stand on His Word. He said I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
The Word of God will……..….turn the tide……..in your life.
Thank you God for Your Word, Doreen
