John 8:42 Jesus said to them,“If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me."

 

Jesus spoke distinctly to the people in regard to their faith and loyalty. He told them in no uncertain terms, they were not living for God. If they had been, they would love Him.

 

Americans need to hear this message. Our Pledge of Allegiance says we are, “One Nation under God” but we don’t behave that way. Our currency and coins all say, “In God we trust” but who do we really trust? It seems as though we trust the money itself far more than we trust God.

 

America is ridden with sin. What is sin? Sin is any departure from God and His Word. This country was founded by people who loved God and did their best to live by the statutes set forth in God’s Word. If we are to be a nation of people who trust God and are under God, then Americans today must turn to God.

 

Our relationship with God is on an individual basis. We discussed this subject earlier this week. What I do does not affect your relationship with God. Likewise, what you do has no reflection on my relationship with God. Each of us is in this relationship alone with God.

 

If Jesus Christ were to come to America and address this nation, what would He say? Perhaps He would tell us exactly what he told the people in John 8:42-47Jesus said to them,“If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s Words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” This is just a small portion of what Jesus told them. I challenge you to open your Bible and read the 8th Chapter of John.

 

Wake up America! Turn back from whence you came; back to the One True God of the Universe. Read His Word and live your life accordingly. God stands ready to forgive all those who approach Him in true repentance. His Grace is sufficient. His Mercy is everlasting but He WILL NOT tolerate unrepentant sin.

 

America is in a state of unrepentant sin. We are killing thousands of unborn babies every day. We are enabling people to live in sin. We are not speaking the Truth of God’s Word. America is made up of, “We the people.” If we the people humble ourselves and pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our sin, God will heal our land.

 

Right now He is allowing our land to be shaken to its core. Nothing happens that God does not cause it or allow it to happen. God is allowing us to reap what we have sown for a long time. We MUST start sowing the seeds of God’s Word back into this dry and barren land if we want to see a good harvest.

 

It’s up to you and me. As individuals, we must do our part for our country and the Kingdom of God. We can no longer sit back and expect someone else to do our part. You have a part to play. You have people to talk to and children to teach. We all have a part in reclaiming America for Christ. God is waiting. How long will He wait? That's a good question.
