2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
As we continue our study of the day Peter and John ministered Healing to the crippled beggar at the Temple, we find an important part of God’s Plan and Purpose for His Church.
God uses people. He has always used people and He only has imperfect people to use. We are all called to share our faith and minister to lost and hurting people when we have the opportunity. None of us are perfect but we can all be used by God if we make ourselves available and are obedient.
Peter preached a powerful Message at the Temple on the Day of Pentecost. 3,000 people gave their hearts to the Lord that day. Soon after, he and John met the crippled beggar at the Gate named Beautiful. They ministered healing to him and he jumped up and ran into the Temple praising God for his Healing.
The people were all amazed at what had happened and they gathered in Solomon’s Porch on the East side of the Temple to see this walking Miracle. Peter and John took no credit for the Healing. It was the Power of God through faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth that Healed the man and Peter seized the opportunity to speak to them again.
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, You men of Israel why do you marvel at this? Or why do you look so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we have made this man to walk? (Acts 3:10-12)
Peter and John had been given the authority to use the Power in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and were empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring about Healing in the man’s body. We have been given this very same Power! We have no power on our own but we do have access to the Power of the Holy Spirit of God and we need to take advantage of every opportunity to use it.
Paul instructed young Timothy in this. Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (2 Timothy 4:2) Be ready my friends. Share the Gospel of Christ in season and out of season. That means, wherever you are whenever you are called to do so.
Jesus is coming back. Our time is short. Are you ready to share the Gospel with someone today? Are you ready to minister Healing to someone who needs it? Are you ready to cast out a demon from a soul in bondage? Are you ready! Well, GET READY! Today is the day of Salvation for someone and God wants to use you!
God wants to use you to……….turn the tide………..in someone’s life.
Ready! Doreen
