1 Chronicles 12:38-40 All these men of war, who could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
The Army of David had came together. They were in one accord and prepared to fight to make David king over all of Israel. It’s important to note that they did not join the army to be trained and armed. They CAME trained and armed. When they arrived they were READY to fight. They showed up with their own weapons and armor. They had already been trained and now were prepared to lay down their lives for their king and their country.
The Word says they, came with a perfect heart….and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king. The entire army and all of Israel were of one heart; the Heart of God. Finally Israel was one with the Holy Spirit. They were marching in perfect time with Him and they would march on to Victory!
God has always called His people to fight for Him. We are soldiers of the Cross. The Word of God is our training manual. It tells us of our armor and our weaponry. It describes our enemy and gives us the strategy we need to defeat him.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
Therefore take up the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with Truth, having put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; above all, taking the Shield of Faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:13-18)
For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My Name they will cast out demons; (Mark 16:17)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
These are a mere sampling of Scriptures on the subject of being a Soldier of the Cross of Christ. The Word of God is full of them. Everywhere you look, you find more. It is time to not only find them and read them, the time has come to LIVE THEM OUT in our daily lives as once again the Lord is calling for His people to join together, understand the enemy, put on the full Armor of God, take up the Sword of the Spirit in readiness to defend the Cross of Christ. Jesus is our King, and it is our duty to defend Him, His Throne, and Righteousness.
Get ready! God is about to……..turn the tide
Armed and ready, Doreen
