Ask God To Move

Acts 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your Word.

Peter and John were put in jail for healing a man in the Name of Jesus and preaching the Gospel to the town's people. When brought before the Council for their hearing, they spoke boldly about the Power in the Name of Jesus.

The men hearing their case had the authority to kill them, but Peter and John didn’t back down in the face of danger. Rather, Peter preached the same Message to the Council he had preached to the people on the porch of the Temple the day before, where they witnessed over 5,000 people come to belief in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Council decided to threaten Peter and John and then let them go because, in actuality, they had committed no crime. Upon their release from custody, they returned to their friends and gave God all the praise and glory for what He had accomplished. Not only for the healing of the man but for the boldness He had given them to speak the Truth in the face of danger.

Now, they would pray for even MORE. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your Word. By stretching forth Your Hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the Name of Your Holy Child Jesus.

Here we see that they were asking God for more Healings, Signs, and Wonders. It was the Miraculous Healing that drew the crowd together so Peter could preach to them. If God had not healed the lame man, all those people would have just gone into the Temple for another ritualistic service as they had day after day their entire lives.

This day was different because the Holy Spirit of God through the Power in the Name of Jesus showed up, and the people witnessed a Miracle. That Miracle and the Preaching of the Gospel of Christ by Peter made believers out of them all.

That’s what God can do when we ask. All this still happens today when God’s people humble themselves and boldly ask in the Name of Jesus, expecting God to move. When He does, all who witness it will come to faith in Him.

God stands ready to.........turn the tide

Expecting more,    Doreen
