Romans 15:13 May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the Power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in Hope.

 

Yesterday, we addressed the question of why churches are filled with miserable Christians. A miserable Christian is one without hope.  Anyone with hope is not miserable. Hope for what? Hope for change. Hope for the future. Hope that God will move in a powerful way. Hope for anything. 

 

When we have hope, we don’t quit. We don’t give up because we have hope. Hope is the light at the end of the tunnel. If you were wandering around lost in a dark cave with no food or water, your situation could easily become hopeless. But when you go around a corner, and you see light, instantly you have HOPE! There IS a way out. You don’t have to die in this dark, dismal place. 

 

Miserable Christians are living their lives in darkness, without hope. They see no way out. They are not hearing anything at church that REALLY helps them or brings them hope. The darkness closes in around them, and they sink into a state of depression that eventually ends in death. 

 

This describes the life Satan has for us. However, Jesus died that we may have an abundant life filled with HOPE! The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) 

 

To live the abundant life Jesus died for us to have is to live with Hope about everything. God is able to do anything. Nothing is impossible for Him. If we REALLY believe this, we will put our faith in Him and never lose hope, no matter how dark the world around us may become. 

 

Hope is a Benefit of the Holy Spirit. May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the Power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in Hope. Only by the Power of the Holy Spirit will you abound in Hope. This Scripture tells us this! by the Power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in Hope.

 

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) All hope rests in our degree of belief in this Scripture. Do you believe all things are possible with God? If you do, then give that situation or person up to Him. It is impossible for you to fix it or change them but, all things are possible to him who believes. Therein lies the basis for your hope! Jesus said it. Choose to BELIEVE IT!

 

Placing your faith and hope in the Lord will……..turn the tide........in your life.
