John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
For the past several months, we have been discussing the Benefits available to the Believer. The subject of this Morning Message is the Believer’s Benefit of Humility. Most people would not view decreasing as a benefit, but in the Kingdom of God it is one of the most powerful Benefits we have.
We pray for power and ability when actually, we have none, and God will never give His Power to any person. To do so would be to build pride in the individual, which God hates. Lucifer (one of God’s most beautiful and gifted angels) was banished from Heaven forever because of pride.
The Word of God has much to say on the subject of pride vs. humility. This is a black and white issue. All pride is sin and black, while humility is white and the Will of the Lord for His people.
When we come to the place where we understand just how small and powerless we really are, THEN we will see how mighty and powerful God is and how much He can use us in mighty ways.
God does bless every believer with Spiritual Gifts, but without His Power, these Gifts are all worthless. We have no power within ourselves to save, heal, or deliver anyone. Nor do we have the power to speak a prophetic word over a person.
God does not bless us with anything to be used to build ourselves up. On the contrary, all Blessings and Benefits from God are to cause us to decrease and Him to increase. He will use us in mighty ways when we become small, put down all pride, and allow Him to display His Power through us. We are nothing without Christ.
With that in mind, pray for the Benefit of the ability to decrease, so He can increase through you.
When we decrease, God will..........turn the tide........in our lives.
