Psalm 103:5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things
One of the Benefits of being a born-again Christian is the contentment that comes with knowing God will continually satisfy our mouths with good things. This verse specifically speaks to Him, bringing good things to our mouths.
Immediately, we think of food and drink, but this goes far beyond just that. In regard to food and drink, the Word of God says, I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. (Psalm 37:25) God will provide for His children.
God also promises to never leave or forsake us. In addition, Jesus said, Seek you first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
These are all extremely powerful Promises and Benefits in the all-inclusive Benefit Package of the born-again believer, but they all come with the condition of being faithful to seek God and His Righteousness FIRST in our lives.
We cannot go on living in sin and expect God to bless us. God knows none of us are perfect; that’s why He sent His Son to die on the Cross. However, He does expect us to respond to His Teaching and make the necessary changes in our lives when we become aware of them. This is why it is so important to sit under sound Teaching and Preaching.
The purpose of all the Spiritual Gifts is to bring knowledge, wisdom, and edification. When we hear a powerful message and the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts of something that needs to change in our lives, we need to take it seriously and pray for deliverance in that area. God means business! He is not talking to hear Himself talk. He is talking so we may grow closer to Him and stay on the Narrow Path He has set before us.
When we take a job, our employer promises to compensate us for our work, but we have to show up on the job and do the work. God Promises to satisfy your mouth with good things, but you have to show up and do your part! What’s your part? Your part is to seek Him first and be obedient to His Word.
God is calling you to surrender your entire life to Him. He will give you the desire to serve Him in everything you do and say, but you must be obedient and WANT to serve Him. Then, He will satisfy your mouth with good things. He will provide for you good things to eat and drink, and He will fill your mouth with words that will edify others.
Do your part. It will.........turn the tide ..........in your life.
So grateful for His Provision, Doreen
