Yesterday we initiated a discussion that has caused quite the response! We talked about our born-again experience being like having received a total blood transfusion. If you didn’t read yesterday’s Morning Message, please go back and do so before reading on here.
The Apostle Paul said, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When he said “ALL THINGS,” that is exactly what he meant. Not some things, or a few select things, but ALL THINGS are new. That means nothing can be the same. We are a new person with new plans, new thoughts, new desires, new words, new actions, new…..everything, because of our belief in Christ and what He did on the Cross.
To be this “new creature,” we must be in Christ. That means to live and breathe Christ in every aspect of our lives. Yesterday we likened it to having a total blood transfusion. When we receive the Blood of Christ and allow it to run through every vein in our bodies, nothing will remain the same.
Blood is the life source. That’s how God created it. Without blood, there is no life. This is the theory behind acupuncture and acupressure therapy. Through stimulation, the circulation of blood is caused to flow to a particular area of the body, which brings healing and life. If a person has blocked veins in their legs, their feet will become inflamed, diseased, and will soon die. It is the blood flow in our bodies that maintains life.
When we are truly born again and accept the fact that we now have the Cleansing, Healing, and Delivering Blood of Jesus running through every vein in our entire body, it’s obvious we will not be the same! We can’t be! With new Blood we are a new creation. With Jesus’ Blood running in our veins, we take on His Characteristics, which are the Fruit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Every born-again believer has access to the Benefit of a Total Blood Transfusion. Once a person understands what is available to them, they would be foolish not to take advantage of it.
As my mother-in-law used to say, “What do you have to lose?”
