Habakkuk 2:12 Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!
In the 12th Verse, we have the third “Woe” spoken by God in regard to the people who choose to build empires, personal and otherwise,” by the shed blood of others and other sinful dealings. We find in Verses 6 and 9 the first two “Woes” spoken by God.
To recap, the following are the first three “Woes” found in the Prophetic Vision given to Habakkuk. Woe to him who increases that which is not his! And to him who lades himself with thick clay. (Verse 6)
Woe to him who covets an evil covetousness to his house that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil. (Verse 9)
Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity. (Verse 12)
As we read and study this 2nd Chapter of Habakkuk and the Vision the Lord gave him, it paints an accurate picture of those who have elevated themselves to the status of “elite” in America today. A quick search on the internet will reveal an accounting of those people who have been brought to ruin or killed because they refused to conform to the demands of those in power. This is not America! This is tyranny.
In Verse 13 we read God’s response and what will eventually come to pass in the lives of these people. Behold, is it not of the Lord of Hosts, that the people shall labor in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
If they don't come to the place of repentance, all their work and scheming will be for nothing. In the end, their empires will come crashing down. They will perish, and their souls will spend eternity in the fire of Hell.
We serve a just God who stands by His Word. Everything He says, either has already or will come to pass. This is the Promise of God Almighty who was, and is and forever shall be. Amen.
In His time, He will……..turn the tide
Amen, Doreen
