Christian Benefits

Psalm 103:1-5  Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His Holy Name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His Benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The 103rd Psalm is extremely powerful. It describes the Benefits of being a believer. The Benefit Package that accompanies being born again is phenomenal, but few Christians accept it all.

When we apply for a job, we consider the compensation, which includes the rate of pay and the entire benefit package. This package may include insurance, paid sick days, paid vacation time, paid holidays, free or discounted goods and/or services, stock options, retirement benefits, and more. All this is taken into consideration, and a monetary value can be placed on every benefit that adds to the base rate of pay for the position.

After accepting the job, we go to work trusting our employer will keep their side of the agreement. If we get sick, we can expect to be paid even though we are not on the job. When a paid holiday comes around, we don’t have to work, but we get paid for that day anyway. When we have earned our paid vacation time, we take those days off work, knowing our employer will pay us while we are enjoying our time off. We take advantage of all the benefits that come with that job because they were all included in the agreement from the beginning.

The same is true with being a Christian. The Benefit Package is enormous, and yet most Christians either don’t know what the Benefits are or they refuse to take them for whatever reason. This, my friends, is foolish.

Take a hard look at the Benefit Package for being a born-again Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Then, consider which of these Benefits you are accepting every day of your life.

Forgives all your iniquities.
Heals all your diseases.
Redeems your life from destruction.
Crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies.
Satisfies your mouth with good things.
Renewed youth like the eagle.

All this (and more) is available to you because you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has deemed you worthy to receive them. You may not think you deserve to be healed, but God does, and that’s why He included Healing in the Benefit Package.

To not accept your Healing is to work hard at a job every day and then not accept the pay for not coming to work on Christmas Day. It’s foolish!

If you consider yourself a “believer,” then BELIEVE! Accept ALL the Benefits of the Lord God. He wants you to have it all!  Read this verse again: Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His Benefits:

God can absolutely.........turn the tide

Loving ALL the benefits!      Doreen
