John 3:7 You must be born again.
When a person is TRULY born again, there will be changes in their life. For the past few days, we have been discussing the Benefits of receiving a Total Blood Transfusion of the Blood of Jesus. We have learned that we no longer are under the curses of our forefathers or the power of Satan to control our lives. Everything about us is new.
Speaking to believers, the Apostle Paul said, Sin shall not have dominion over you. This doesn’t mean believers will never sin again, but it does mean the habitual sin of our past life will no longer have the same hold on them. As a born-again believer, we submit our body as a living sacrifice unto the Lord and allow Him to rule and reign in every aspect of our lives. He is now our Lord and Savior; our King and the Ruler of who we are and what we do; changed from the person we once were to live as we were created, in the image of God. Hallelujah! So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)
We all know people who proclaim to be a Christian but their life does not reflect it. They don’t think, act, or talk any differently than they did before their acceptance of Christ. How can this be? The Bible says we will be made new. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Why are some people changed and others not changed?
Allow me to make an illustration. Let's say we come upon a person who is absolutely starving to death. They are nothing but skin and bones. Out of compassion, we take them home and set them at a table of food. That’s what they need: food. But they refuse to eat. They just sit there. They know they need food and they are extremely hungry. They also know that what is on the table in front of them is food. They recognize it as what will save their life. They understand that food is a requirement to sustain life. They know they are dying for a lack of food, and yet they refuse to eat the food before them.
Their knowledge of what food is and what food will do for them will not save their life. They must EAT the food. They must take it into their body and allow it to do what food does for the human body, which is to bring nourishment that sustains life.
This is a picture of a person who understands they are a sinner. They have heard and understand the Gospel of Christ. They have said they believe. They have all the knowledge they need to be born again, but for whatever reason they refuse to become a living sacrifice and take in what the Lord Jesus Christ has for them.
They sit at the table but won’t eat. Therefore, there is no change in their life. They continue to live the same sinful lifestyle they did before they heard the Gospel Message. Knowledge and understanding of who Jesus is and what He did on the Cross will not save anyone.
True Salvation comes only by submitting one’s life to the Lord Jesus Christ and allowing His Blood to be transfused into our veins. Then, and only then, will we reap the Benefits of being truly born again. Until then, we have nothing more than just head knowledge and are not born again. Jesus said, You must be born again.
Today is the day of Salvation. Today is the day to be born again. God wants to change everything about you, but you must let Him. Stop just sitting at the table every Sunday morning for an hour and going home starving to death. EAT! You will never be the same again, and your forever destiny will be changed as your name is written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Hallelujah!
This is the only thing that will……..turn the tide …...in your life.
Praise God! Doreen
