James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
For the past few days, we have been discussing the importance of our thought life. That which we think about will determine what we say and do. We say what we think and we do what we think because we are what we think.
The focal Verse of Scripture for yesterday’s Morning Message was Proverbs 16:3. Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established. This short Verse is powerful because it tells us what we have to do for God to establish our thoughts. If we want to live our lives pleasing to God we must have pure thoughts. Without Jesus in our lives, we will not have pure thoughts. Our faith in Him gives the Holy Spirit access to our minds and it is He who will transform our thoughts.
Jesus said Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) To seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness is virtually the same thing as commit your works to the Lord. They both mean that we are to put God and His Kingdom first in our lives THEN God will bless us by providing what we need and establishing our thoughts which will keep us on the narrow road.
Our focal Verse for today is Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) Here we find another piece to the puzzle. We have determined that it is the devil who plants evil thoughts in our minds and it is those thoughts that cause us to sin. Therefore, to live our lives pleasing to God we must get the devil out of our minds. We do this by being humble and submitting our lives to God. This is to surrender everything to Him and His Kingdom. In other words, put God first, seek God first, submit to God, and commit your life to Him.
Do it and watch God………..turn the tide ……….in your life!
Committed and submitted. Doreen
