Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Pharmaceutical drugs are in the news every day. The use and dependency on prescribed drugs are phenomenal in America today. An overwhelming percentage of Americans take some sort of prescription medication on a daily basis, and the doctors have them all convinced that without that drug, they would die. This is dependency.
In most cases, prescription drugs treat the symptoms and mask the pain. Few, if any, actually address the core issue and heal the disease. To eliminate the symptoms, we must get to the root of the problem and treat it instead of just treating the symptoms.
It is the same in our spirit being. The spiritual problems we have manifest through our behavior and how we respond to situations. The natural treatment for a spiritual problem is to take a pharmaceutical drug, see a counselor, or physically remove yourself from that situation. In short, we either mask the pain, run from the problem, or physically force the situation to change.
It is natural for people to try to do something to fix things, but spiritual problems cannot be fixed with natural methods and remedies. Spiritual problems must be dealt with spiritually.
In Romans 8, the great Apostle Paul lays out the diagnosis and remedy for all spiritual sickness. No one likes to hear the diagnosis and undergo treatment, but to heal the problem, we must treat the root. Jesus said, the axe must be laid at the root, and whether we like to hear it or not, the root of all spiritual sickness is sin.
All sin brings forth condemnation. Either self-condemnation or condemnation from others. Condemnation is what destroys the spiritual well-being of an individual. Self-condemnation is guilt and shame. Outward condemnation is judgment and leaves the person in a state of being defeated, rejected, and unworthy. In either case, condemnation is destructive to spiritual well-being and causes the person to become defeated.
But HOLD ON because there is a Remedy and we find it in the first verse of Romans 8. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. This single Verse holds the Divine Prescription for Spiritual Well Being, which is what God intends for everyone.
Most people read only the first half of the first verse There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. However, they fail to consider the second part, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Many people have been taught (and believe) that once they are saved, all condemnation will just leave them. This is a falsehood. To be set free from any and all condemnation in our lives, we MUST first be saved and ALSO decide to walk NOT after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is available to all who believe in Jesus and His Work on the Cross, BUT we have to CHOOSE to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh, which is the world and all its evil. It’s a choice, my friends. Any and all condemnation in your life can ONLY be overcome by walking after the Spirit, and it’s your choice to do so or not. You have just read God's Prescription for total healing of your spirit. The Remedy is there before you. Now you have to choose to accept it or reject it. With whom do you choose to walk?
God's Remedy will absolutely...……..turn the tide
I choose the Spirit, Doreen
