1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
For the past few days, we have been discussing the Doctrine of Balaam because God hates it and it is multi-faceted in nature. To put it in a nutshell, it is to use God’s Gifts and His Church for personal gain and/or self-gratification. This is NEVER acceptable to God and will result in one spending all of eternity in the Lake of Fire, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The Apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy on the subject of greed. We will be well advised to read the following Passage of Scripture and seek the Lord for Discernment because people like this are operating in the Church today everywhere.
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the Doctrine which accords with Godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that Godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. (1 Timothy 6:3-5)
Everything spoken of in the above Passage of Scripture falls into the category of the Doctrine of Balaam. It all may look good at first but these people do not seek to build the Kingdom of God and see people saved, healed, and delivered. Rather they seek to prosper financially and bring glory to themselves. Paul told us what to do. From such withdraw yourself.
Due to the intensity and destructive nature of the Doctrine of Balaam, Paul went on to say Now Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:6-10)
And there you have God’s Word on the subject. As servants of our Lord Jesus Christ, we must learn to be content with what we have knowing that God will provide for us. God knows we need money to operate in this world and He will provide for our needs. To love money is to put it before God and this is sin. It’s easy to get caught up in this because it is the way of the world but as born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are to come apart and be separate from the world. Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. (1 Corinthians 6:17)
Separate yourself from the world. God will soon…...……turn the tide
Perfectly content, Doreen
