1 Chronicles 12:31 And of the half tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name to come and make David king.
In 1 Chronicles, verses 24-37, we are told that the Army of David consisted of over 340,000 men who came together from all over the region and were willing to risk their lives in battle to make David king over all of Israel.
Wikipedia reports that there are 247 MILLION Christians in America alone. Just imagine what the Body of Christ could do if we would all come together and be willing to risk our lives to make Jesus King!
In verse 31, we read, And of the half tribe of Manasseh, eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name to come and make David king. It is important to note that these men were expressed by name. They were not ashamed. They wanted everyone to know who they were and be personally counted among those who came to make David king.
God knows us each personally. He knows our names. He calls us by name. The great Apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians about their personal relationship with Christ. Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the Grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:11)
Our relationship with God is personal. God speaks to us individually. He wants each of us to be counted worthy of His calling on our lives. We may be part of a group, but God calls us each individually. We do not stand before God as a member of ABC Church of Somewhere, America. We stand before Him as who we are individually.
The 18,000 men of the tribe of Manasseh were expressed by name. They were personally proud to stand for David as king. They each made their names known to the world. Jesus said, For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the Holy Angels. (Luke 9:26)
Jesus is coming back….SOON! Will you be among those who are counted worthy? Don’t wait another day to express your name as a believer, follower and soldier of Christ. Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow may be too late.
