Ephesians 2:1 And you has He made alive, who were dead to trespasses and sins.
The Book of Ephesians is said to be the Crown Prince of Paul’s writings. This Book consists of only six chapters and 155 verses but is full of Truth concerning the Grace and Mercy of God as well as instructions about how to live our lives pleasing to God. Ephesians is a book that can be studied again and again because every time you read it, you discover something new.
Chapter 2 begins with Paul reminding us that our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary has made us alive in Him. We are born again; no longer the sinful person we used to be. And you has He made alive, who were dead to trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. (Ephesians 2:1-3)
This is an accurate description of every person on earth. Believers have been saved from the horrible lifestyle of sin. They no longer live according to the leading of Satan. Paul calls him the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
Satan is a fallen angel. He is evil through and through. There is nothing good about him. Jesus told us that he comes ONLY to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10) He works in and through people who are spiritually lost.
Paul reminds us that we should recognize these people because we were once like them ourselves. among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. Everyone is in this sinful condition until they come to the Saving Knowledge of the Gospel of Christ. There is no other way to be set free from sin.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for all sin. When we place our faith in what He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary and declare Him to be the Lord of our lives, we are Saved from the penalty and power of sin.
Just as we were Saved by the Mercy and Grace of God, every lost person on earth can be as well. They must hear the Good News of the Gospel of Christ. They need to know what Jesus did for them so they can make the decision to follow Christ or stay on the path that leads to death and destruction.
Our responsibility is to tell them. Tell someone today what the Lord has done for you.
God wants to……..….turn the tide……….in their life.
