Galatians 5:19-20 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath,

 

The subject for today is outbursts of wrath. This sin is on the list of the works of the flesh, and like all the others, it is evident. Wrath is the first cousin to the demonic spirits of anger and rage. 

 

The definition of wrath is: The emotional response to perceived wrong and injustice. 

 

The Wrath of God and the wrath of man are nothing alike. God’s Wrath is ALWAYS Holy and Justified while man’s is never justified. The Word of God has much to say about the wrath of man, anger, and rage. 

 

Ephesians 4:26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 

 

The Apostle Paul also said,  But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. (Colossians 3:8) 

 

As believers, things will make us angry, but we should not respond with an outburst of wrath and rage. When we do, we have taken Satan’s bait and will quickly find ourselves outside the fence of the Pasture of Plenty. 

 

The fact is, we cannot control or change what other people do. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to pray for them and ask God to intervene in their life and bring them to the knowledge of the Truth of God’s Word. I’m not saying this is easy to do. It is not. 

 

The ONLY way to accomplish this is to stay near the Cross of Christ, in the Pasture of Plenty, where there is Peace and Contentment. 

 

We can also come against these demonic spirits on a spiritual level as we fight the good fight of faith, known as spiritual warfare. We have the Power to rebuke these demonic spirits from ourselves in the Mighty Name of Jesus. 

 

If you suffer from outbursts of wrath, anger, and rage, repeat this prayer: Lord God, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, I repent of the sins of anger and rage. I ask you to forgive me for this and set me free from these demonic spirits. I rebuke all wrath, anger, and rage from my life and cast them out in the Name of Jesus. I ask you, Lord, to release your Righteous Spirit of Peace and Love into my being and cause me to respond to situations in a way that brings Glory and Honor to your Name. Thank you, Lord for your Promise that if we confess our sin, you will be faithful and just to forgive us and set us free from it. I give you all the Praise and Glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
