Despise Not Small Beginnings

Zechariah 4:10 For whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole Earth.

This Passage of Scripture is one of hope. The Lord sees all and understands all. Sometimes we feel defeated because things aren’t moving and growing as fast as we think they should. Although the Lord has given us a vision of something big, in most cases, we must begin small.

Take heart in what the Lord says, For whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice, It’s easy to be discouraged by being small or having little, but the Lord promises we will one day rejoice! God’s Work shall be completed in His Time and His Way and it will all be perfect.

The phrase, shall see the plumb line, is an interesting part of the Promise. In building, we use a plumb line to ensure the building is level and in square. This is extremely important. A structure out of square will eventually fail to stand but a structure that is plumb is perfectly square and sound.

We have discussed many times that “seven” is God’s number for perfection. This Passage speaks of seven eyes of the Lord which run to and fro through over the whole Earth. God has perfect eyes that see everything on Earth. He is perfect in every way and nothing escapes His absolute, perfect Vision.

God’s plan for your life to is to bring you a future and hope. He does not wish to harm you in any way. (Jeremiah 29:11) He has a plan and most of the time His plan starts out small. That’s the part most of us don’t like. We want everything to be BIG from the beginning but that is not God’s way.

Matthew 25:21 Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.

When we look back, we can see how God has brought increase to our lives. We must be faithful with the little we have if we expect Him to give us more. This is the way God operates in our lies. It is He who sees and hears all. He knows our heart and our true motivation.

Don’t despise the day of small things because greater things are yet to come! Rejoice and be thankful for what the Lord has done in your life. Be faithful with what you have and He will reward you with more. This is the Promise of God upon which we can stand! Hallelujah!

Only God can…….turn the tide
