Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I love it when Science catches up with the Word of God! After centuries of study and scientific experimentation, the most intelligent, learned people in the world of medicine have determined that stress in the human body is the cause of many diseases such as cancer, coronary disease, skin disorders, Gastrointestinal disorders, mental illness, respiratory disease, headaches and migraines, hypertension, immune disorders, muscular and articulator problems and gastrointestinal disorders, just to name a few.

For further information on this, do a search in your computer for stress induced disease. You may be shocked at what you find. Basically, stress in the human body results in every type of sickness and disease.

Stress is defined as: a state of mental or emotional strain caused by adverse circumstances. We all experience emotional strain and other circumstances that bring on stress in our lives. It has been proven by the medical community that stress disables the body’s immune system. This is why stress results in all sorts of sickness and disease.

The bottom line is that stress is a killer. It robs a person of their peace and contentment. Since stress disables our immune system, stressed out people are unable to fight off sickness and disease which causes their physical body to deteriorate.

The remedy for stress is found in the Word of God who created the human body and its immune system which is its ability to heal itself. First of all Jesus declared: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has Anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luke 4:18) The earthly Ministry of Jesus brought healing and deliverance to every person who He came in contact with. When the evening was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all who were sick: (Matthew 8:16)

Our faith in His Finished Work on the Cross is a continuation of His earthly Ministry and will bring total healing to every aspect of our lives IF we will trust Him to do everything He said He would do. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) My friends, stress is not included in the Abundant Life Jesus suffered and died for us to have!

Stress is to continually focus on things that are not good. It is to dwell on the bad times, the incidents in our lives where people have hurt us, failed us, abused us or cheated us. Stress is actually self-induced harm that eventually will lead to sickness, disease and death. Stress is a mental condition that manifests in the body. Therefore, we would be wise to follow the Word of God. The Apostle Paul wrote, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

The key word in the above Passage of Scripture is “think.” The Amplified Bible reads as follows: Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of Peace and well-being will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)

To put it in a nutshell, look for the Good, find the Good and dwell on the Good. When you do the God of Peace will be with you and your stress will be gone. Then, your physical condition will improve. Hallelujah!

Meditate on the Goodness of God. It will……….turn the tide……..in your life.
