Eyes To See

Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go your way; your faith has made you whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

The keyword in Jesus’ statement is “whole.”  Bartimaeus’ faith made him whole. Whole is more than just healed. Yes, his sight was restored. He was no longer physically blind, but when we look at the Greek word for whole, we find another meaning.

The Greek word is “sozo” which means “to save.” Bartimaeus was not only healed, he was saved! He was made whole, body, soul, and spirit and it happened because of his faith. There is no other way to be made whole.

Jesus said, I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me. Faith in Jesus is the ONLY way to Salvation and the state of wholeness; body, soul, and spirit. Many people seek salvation, healing, and deliverance from God, but they have little to no Faith in Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross at Calvary. He died that we may be free from all bondage, and all we have to do is believe it.

Jesus said in John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. God’s redemption plan is not difficult. It is His desire that all believe in His Son and be saved. He made it quite simple.  All it takes is childlike faith to be saved and made whole.  Sozo: saved, healed, and delivered.

Once made whole, Bartimaeus did not sit back down on the street and go back to begging for food and money. He got up, put on his NEW garment and followed Jesus in the way. He threw away his beggar garment, received his healing and followed Jesus in His Ministry. Tradition says he was an ardent disciple and followed Him all the way to Jerusalem.

He was given eyes to see, and he never let Jesus out of his sight. If you are saved, you have been given eyes to see. You once were spiritually blind, but now, you see.

I will conclude with two questions in regard to your Christian walk: Is Jesus forever in your sight? How far will you follow Him?

Only Jesus will……..turn the tide
