Acts 3:12-16 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and killed the Prince of Life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. And His Name, through faith in His Name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Peter took the opportunity to tell the Priests and religious folks exactly what happened and he did not mince words. He let them know in no uncertain terms that it was the spirit of religion in them that sent the Messiah to be crucified on the Cross.
They had denied Jesus before Pilate, although he was determined to release Him. Instead, they insisted He be crucified even though they knew He had done nothing wrong. They purposely let a murderer go free and sentenced the Messiah to death on the Cross, and given the opportunity, Peter threw it right back in their face. They could have had him killed, too, but in their hearts, they knew he was 100% correct in everything he was saying.
Given the fact that they could not deny the Miracle of Healing that had just taken place right before their eyes, Peter had their undivided attention and he went on to preach to them of the Power in the Name of Jesus. And His Name, through faith in His Name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
God healed this man in front of all of them and gave him perfect soundness. God doesn’t do things halfway or partially. On the contrary, He does things on time, completely, and wherever He chooses to do so.
Peter had operated in total faith in the Power in the Name of Jesus. There was no doubt in his mind that the man would be healed from his lifelong condition of being lame, who had never stood on his own feet before. He had never taken a single step. He had been carried everywhere until He came in contact with someone who had the faith to believe in the Power in the Name of Jesus! This belief granted him perfect soundness and they all watched it happen.
All things are possible when we have the faith to believe in the Power in the Name of Jesus.
Faith to believe will.............turn the tide
