Favor His Righteous Cause

Psalm 35:27-28 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, who favor My righteous cause: Yes, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. And My tongue shall speak of Your Righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.

The final two verses of the 35th Psalm are extremely powerful. In Verse 27 the Spirit of Christ assures the believer of their joy, gladness, and prosperity. This is a description of liberty. Our forefathers wanted Americans to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Those people who “favor My righteous cause” will shout for joy, be glad and live in prosperity.  What is “His righteous cause” which is referred to here?

The Righteous Cause of Christ is His Sacrifice on the Cross. This was His Cause or Purpose in coming to earth in the flesh. Yes, He came to heal and deliver people during His years of ministry, but His true Cause was to be the ultimate Sacrifice for the sin of the world.

For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believed on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Christ came and died on the Cross that we may have eternal life in Heaven and abundant life here on earth. Abundant life is what our Founding Fathers sought for the American people. Abundant life is freedom from any and all bondage. Tyranny is controlling bondage of the people who are entrapped in it.

No person living under the dictatorship of a tyrant can enjoy abundant life. This is why our forefathers risked their lives and the lives of their wives and children and took to the high seas of the Atlantic Ocean in rather small boats. They did it to escape the tyranny in England. They did it because they understood the “Righteous Cause” of Christ and the benefits of that Cause.

When Americans turn back to God and choose to “favor His Righteous Cause” they will once again shout for joy and be glad. As we magnify the Lord who takes pleasure in our prosperity, we will speak of His Righteousness and lift up His Mighty Name in the streets of our great nation once again.

Favoring the Cause of Christ will……..turn the tide

Oh how I pray for this,       Doreen
