Psalm 36:1 The transgression of the wicked says within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
The enemy comes only to kill, steal and destroy the faith of the believer. This is his goal. IF he can rob us of our faith, he has us right where he wants us.
Satan is clever and sneaky. He attacks our thought processes and plants unrighteous, evil thoughts in our minds. Those thoughts become actions; sin; iniquity. Most of the time we don’t even see it coming. Everything seems fine and all of a sudden we find ourselves thinking thoughts and doing things that go against the Word of God. THAT…..is the attack of the enemy.
This is why the Apostle Paul wrote in his second letter to the Corinthians, Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; We absolutely MUST be in control of our thoughts and take every one into captivity to the obedience of Christ. This results in the renewing of the mind that Paul speaks of in Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
To recognize the attack of the enemy is not always easy. However, as David wrote in Psalms 36:1, the first thing to look for is the lack of fear of God. The transgression of the wicked says within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. “Fear of God” is a healthy respect for who He is, what He has done, and is able to do.
People who have been robbed of their faith lose their fear of God. They no longer pray to God or seek Him in their lives because they have lost their fear of Him and respect for Him. The enemy has robbed them of their faith and replaced their righteous thoughts with thoughts of deceit and iniquity.
The ONLY way to avoid this is to abide in Christ and His Word. “Abide” means to dwell or live there. To allow the Word of God to rule over you is to abide in Christ. Live and breathe the Word of God, and you will see your mind renewed.
Consider every thought that has only two sources of origin: God or the enemy. Take every thought captive and cast out any and all thoughts the enemy has planted in your mind, and take on the thoughts of God. After all, the Word says in 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that He may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Every born-again Christian has the mind of Christ. Think.....about that!
Only God can……..turn the tide
