Fight For The Kingdom
June 17, 2025, 3:00 AM

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

We recently celebrated Memorial Day in America. On this day we remember and honor those who have served our country to defend the freedom and liberty our Founding Fathers established for us in the 18th century.

They have fought hard, and many have paid the ultimate price with their lives. Leaving behind their families, they bravely marched into battle and fought the good fight in the defense of the cause of freedom. They died that their children may freely live. This is selfless courage.

The Apostle Paul wrote about such courage to young Timothy. His words admonished Timothy to be a good soldier, not fighting for a country but for a Kingdom; the Kingdom of God. This is the call on the life of every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Military service people are trained to put all else aside and remain focused on the mission. The goal: winning the battle no matter what it takes.  This attitude is founded in the Holy Word of God. We find it in 2 Timothy where Paul wrote: You therefore, my son, be strong in the Grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier.

A good Christian Soldier lives a life of selfless courage. We will endure hardship as we separate ourselves from the affairs of this world. There is no greater cause for which to fight and lay down one’s life than the Cause of Christ.

Soldiers train other soldiers. They set the example of courage for the young recruits to emulate. Good soldiers have courage. They do not hide or run away from the battle. They FIGHT with everything they have. There is no place for cowards on the battlefield. As Christian Soldiers, we are called to do the same as we disciple young believers in the faith to be strong, courageous soldiers of Christ willing to die, if necessary, for the Cause; the Cause of Christ.

Where would our military be if it weren’t for the brave ones who have devoted their lives to fight the good fight and train recruits? Likewise, where would the Kingdom of God be if it weren’t for the faithful soldiers who devote their lives to building and defending the Kingdom of God, the Cross of Christ?

Every kingdom has an army. The Kingdom of God is no different. EVERY citizen of the Kingdom of God is called to be a soldier of the Cross of Christ.  It’s time to stop hiding in our foxhole back row pews and get out on the battlefield. War is raging all around us but few have the courage to stand and fight for the Cause.

Do YOU have the courage to stand and fight for the Greatest Cause in all of history? Today is the day to enlist.

The Cause of Christ will……..turn the tide

In the fight,      Doreen
