Filthy Dreamers

Jude 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

In the Book of Jude, the Holy Spirit describes false teachers within the Church, comparing them to unbelieving Israelites, fallen Angels, fornicators, and homosexuals. In the 8th Verse, he calls them filthy dreamers.  In Verse 10, Jude refers to them as brute beasts.

When we step back and look at the actions of some people today, it is as if they are wild animals. They have no regard for anyone else, and certainly not the things of God. If they want something, they take it. They engage in whatever satisfies their flesh. Like animals, they are led by and follow their instincts.

These people know nothing of God and His Word, so they speak evil of Him and His Kingdom. They are not seeking God or His Saving Grace. On the contrary, they are seeking to cause harm to the Body of Christ and bring their evil ways into the Church.

Every person is born with the sin nature. Left without Godly instruction and the drawing of the Holy Spirit, we would all be like animals, following our natural instincts. However, as the Holy Spirit draws us to Himself and we seek the Presence of God in our lives, we come to the understanding that we are a lost sinner in desperate need of a Savior.

Sinners come to church every week. I would hope they come seeking God for the first time or to know Him in a greater way so they may live a life pleasing to Him. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Some people come to church to cause trouble, stir things up or for their own personal pleasure and/or gain. These are the people Jude speaks about in his Book.

They seek to bring the world into the Church and corrupt the believers. Some come seeking approval of their evil lifestyles, while others come in search of their next victim. Many people are coming to church today in search of a job or to better themselves financially. These are the filthy dreamers Jude describes in His Book.

The Kingdom of God is made up of people who have accepted Jesus as their Savior because they came to the realization that they needed Him. On their own, they were lost and wretched, bound by the chains of sin and shame, but with Jesus, they are FREE from the burdens of life, past, present, and future.

As born-again believers in Christ, we are to live our lives led by the Holy Spirit. He will grant us discernment of the spirits. This Gift of God enables us to discern the motivating force in people. No matter their sin, if they are coming in search of a Savior and a Godly life, we are to welcome them and minister to them.

However, if they come being led by demonic spirits seeking to kill, steal, and destroy the Church and the Kingdom of God, we must respond as Jude instructed us to in Verse 11, Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

One of the greatest Gifts of God is discernment of spirits. Pray for this Gift and God will grant it to you. I pray every day for a greater measure of discernment. I pray you do the same in these Last Days.

God Almighty is able to……..turn the tide

Thank you Lord,  Doreen
