Luke 11:39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees made the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.”
Paul cast the demon out of the young slave girl who had been used by her masters to make a lot of money by fortune telling. Her masters were furious because their money stream had been cut off. Paul and Silas were ministers of the Gospel of Christ and they cared about the spiritual condition of the young woman. Her masters, on the other hand, cared about their pocketbooks and used her for personal gain.
They were so angry about this that they caught Paul and Silas and took them to the marketplace before the government officials which were Roman Magistrates. These men had great power over the people and were connected to the masters of the young woman. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers. And brought them to the Magistrates saying, these men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble in our city. (Acts 16:19-20)
What we see here is exactly what we see in the world today. Government officials involved in crime syndicates for personal gain. The very same thing that happened then is happening now and the Church is being blamed. Nothing has changed.
The evil rich men had the backing of the governmental officials because they were all in it together. They used young women (and anyone else they could) to put money in their own pockets and when Paul and Silas came to town preaching the Gospel, their evil world was turned upside-down.
Paul and Silas were charged with breaking the law and bringing harm to the city when they were actually bringing the only thing that could help the people: The Gospel of Jesus Christ. And teach customs which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. (Acts 16:21)
The government hushed the Word of Paul and Silas then and the government is trying to hush the Church today. I hope you can make the correlation in your own mind and see that what the Body of Christ fights today is exactly what Paul and Silas fought in the days of the early church.
Kingpins of this world do not care about the people. They care only about themselves and those who rub shoulders with them. The Gospel of Christ and those who REALLY love the Lord and want to help people must rise up in their pulpits and speak the truth and minister Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance to the people.
In closing, let me say that the city officials allowed Paul and Silas to preach the Gospel for Salvation, but when they cast the demon out of the girl and put a stop to the money flow, they were arrested. It’s all about the money; always has been and still is today. This is evident in the current administration in America. There is no doubt about what is happening. It is time for the Body of Christ to rise up and take a stand and get back to the full Ministry of Christ which includes casting out demons.
When Jesus appeared to the eleven (after His Resurrection) He said, And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; (Mark 16:17) The very first thing on the list for believers to do is cast out demons in the Name of Jesus! Why isn’t it being done in the thousands of churches in America and around the world? Good question.
