Foolish People

Psalms 34:6-7 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps round about them who fear Him, and delivers them.

Everything we receive from God comes by way of a Divine Promise; EVERYTHING. This Promise is one of protection and deliverance for the believer.

Life is hard; very hard. The enemy is real, and the persecution of the believer is fierce. Our faith must be in the Lord, and we MUST fear and respect Him with the understanding of the fulfillment of the Promise that will come our way if we do so.

God assigns Angels to look after His people. Some call them Guardian Angels. Call them what you may, Angels are real, and God causes them to encamp round about those who fear Him. These Angels not only guard and protect us, they also will deliver us from the enemy.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps round about them who fear Him, and delivers them. We are the “poor man” in this Passage. Without God, we are nothing. Everything we receive begins with our fear and respect of God.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7) Only a fool would reject God and refuse to fear and respect Him for who He is and what He is able to do.

The world is full of such fools. We, God’s people, must not fall in line with the fools of the world.  I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4) When the believer humbles himself and comes to the place where he knows he is helpless on his own and cries out to the Lord in total desperation, then the Lord will hear his cry and deliver him.  For the Lord to rescue us, we must first come to the end of ourselves and admit we cannot do it on our own.

The great Apostle Paul wrote about this in his letter to the Romans. He said, Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:6)  We must come to that place where we hate our old self. If we hang on to any part of the old self, it will haunt us. The old self must be cast away, crucified with Christ, and destroyed. Then and only then can we take on the new self and have a healthy fear of God, knowing that it was for us, Christ died. He died that we may have a new self, and we give Him all the praise and glory!

Only Jesus was able to do this for us. Only Jesus loves us enough to do this. Only Jesus is worthy of our praise.

Only Jesus will……..turn the tide
