Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My Righteous Right Hand.

Yesterday we discussed the powerful demonic spirit of power and control that dominated Alexander the Great during his reign over the Grecian Empire. With reckless abandon, Alexander marched into city after city and demanded the people surrender or die. They surrendered to him and his rule. This is how he gained so much territory and so many people for the Grecian Empire in such a short period of time.

The spirits of control and dominance are destructive and deadly and will ALWAYS lead to death. No one has the right to dominate another person. It is the demonic influence of the spirit of control that causes this to happen but the Word of God promises that God will never leave His people! He is ever with us. He will strengthen us, help us, and uphold us with His Righteous Right Hand! We give Him Praise for this!

While studying about Alexander the Great, I learned how God protected His People in Jerusalem at that time. Alexander was about to take the Great City. He had already taken all the land that we now know as Israel but this is where God drew the line on the spirit of power and control in the life of Alexander the Great.

Alexander had set in place his plan of action to take Jerusalem. The night before, he had a dream. In his dream he rode up to the Gates of Jerusalem on his great horse as he had so many other cities. But this time it was different. Instead of demanding entry into the city, the great Gates opened and a person emerged wearing the most beautiful garment Alexander had ever seen.

Although Alexander was not a believer in God Almighty, he knew this man was a Man of God. No words were exchanged between the two men in his dream. Alexander simply turned his great horse around and retreated from the City of Jerusalem.

The next morning, Alexander gathered his troops and led them to the Gates of Jerusalem. EXACTLY as he had seen it in his dream the night before, the Gates opened and there stood a Man of God dressed in the exact same beautiful garment. It was the High Priest and somehow Alexander knew he could not overtake this great city. Just as he did in his dream, he turned and led his troops away.

God saved His People and the City of Jerusalem. This was the ONLY city Alexander failed to take. God will always uphold His People with His Mighty Right Hand.

Isaiah 54:17“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

Have courage my friends. Place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He shall never leave us or forsake us. He is our fortress and our strength. In Him, we are forever safe.

God will……..turn the tide
