Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of His Beloved Son,
The Kingdom of God is illuminated by the Light of the World, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. It is a bright place where there is no darkness. This is where we find the abundant life that Jesus died for us to have. I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
On the contrary, the world, ruled by Satan and his demons, is a place of darkness. The dark brings on depression and welcomes demonic activity into our lives. This is sin. Sin separates us from God and the Light.
God loves us so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son to die for the sin and darkness in our lives. He wants us to come out of the darkness and live in the Light of His Love; in the Kingdom of God. The ONLY way to open the door on darkness and walk out into the Light is repentance. When we repent of the sin in our lives, we open the door of that dark place and allow the Light of Jesus to come in. Light ALWAYS dispels darkness. This is both a natural law and a spiritual law.
We are all sinners and have fallen short of the Glory of God. Every sin we have ever committed is due to the sin nature we were born with and the attack of the enemy. He plants thoughts in our minds and tempts us to sin. When we succumb to this temptation and act on those evil thoughts, we sin.
If we don’t take that sin to the Lord and ask for forgiveness, we create a dark spiritual closet in our house. Every time we commit that sin again, we spend more time in that dark closet. The more we do it, the easier it is, and eventually it becomes a dark way of life. As time goes on, eventually we are living our lives inside dark closets.
Despite what the enemy says and others may claim, in our heart we know when we sin. The Lord God has placed in the heart of every person the awareness of right and wrong. When we do something wrong, we know it.
One sin leads to another, and darkness begins to prevail. Many people believe they have done so much wrong, the Lord will never forgive them. This is NOT TRUE. The Lord forgives! If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
You don’t have to live in darkness, burdened with sin. Come to the Light! Jesus is the Light of the world. He will shed His Light into every dark place in your life if you ask Him to. The Kingdom of God is a bright place. You can live there. Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Only Jesus can……..turn the tide
In the Light, Doreen
