Fortune Tellers

Ezekiel 13:8 "Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord God.

Yesterday, we entered into a discussion about false prophets. These people are active in the Church today. They hold special meetings with congregations and speak into their lives. Most of these people are not prophets at all. They are indeed, false prophets who have taken on the title of prophet to bring glory to themselves and for personal recognition and gain.

The great Prophet Ezekiel, spoke on this subject what the Holy Spirit gave him to say. It is a stern word of warning to all false prophets. And the Word of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, “Hear the Word of the Lord!” Thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! O Israel, your prophets are like foxes in the deserts. You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the Lord. They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!” But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, “The Lord says, ‘ but I have not spoken.” Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you” says the Lord God. “My Hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the House of Israel, nor shall they enter into the Land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God. (Ezekiel 31:1-9)

As you can see from the above Passage of Scripture, to misuse the Gifts of God is extremely foolish and incredibly dangerous. This could very well cause a person to lose their soul. At least, that’s the way I read it.

God does use people. He does give us words to say. He does cause us to “know” certain things about people so we can minister salvation, healing, and deliverance to them. God’s Will is to see every person saved, born again, and set free from the bondage of sin. He uses people to accomplish this. We are all saved because someone somewhere told us about Jesus. We experience healing and deliverance due to our faith in the shed blood of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. The people that share the Gospel of Christ are worthy of nothing and they should not seek glory for themselves. If they do, they are operating in pride, treading on very thin ice and God will cause them to fall.

My friends, heed the Word of the Lord. John instructs us to test every spirit and seek discernment. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1) There are thousands of false prophets operating in Churches today. They are nothing more than fortune tellers and should be avoided. Do not turn to mediums or necromancers (fortune tellers); do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 19:31)

Heed this warning. God is about to…...……turn the tide
