Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The 6th Chapter of Romans must be fully understood by the believer if they are to understand the Freedom they have in Christ Jesus.
God loves us so much He sacrificed His Only Son so we can be set free from sin. This does not mean we will no longer have the sin nature within us, but it DOES mean that the sin nature will not have dominion over us. It will no longer be the ruling and controlling force in our lives.
When we commit our lives to God through faith in what Jesus did on the Cross, our old self (the sin-filled person) dies with Jesus on the Cross. Then, just as Jesus was Resurrected from the dead, we too are born again, a new creation, free from the bondage of sin in our lives.
This Freedom is what Jesus was talking about when He said, I have come that they may have life and have it more abundant. Abundant life is ONLY available to born-again believers who fully understand and believe in what Jesus accomplished on the Cross for them.
The lack of this understanding and belief will result in miserable Christians who continue to be slaves to sin. Churches today are filled with people like this. They go through the motions week in and week out but have no comprehension of what is really available to them.
God made a Way for us to live a life free from the dominion of the sin nature. This is God’s Will for every human being, and it is available to everyone. It doesn’t cost anything. We don’t have to do anything to earn it. It’s the Free Gift of God to everyone. All we have to do is believe it. Jesus is that Way. There is no other way.
This is the belief that will….…..turn the tide ………..in your life
