Galatians 5:22-23 But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against which there is no law.
When believers are led by the Holy Spirit, the Fruit of the Spirit grows in them. Everything listed in the above Passage of Scripture is the Fruit of the Spirit. They are not individual “fruits” but all one Fruit and will all grow simultaneously.
All Spirit-led believers will possess the Fruit of the Spirit, and this is a Benefit in our Believer’s Benefit Package that will absolutely change your life!
Jesus died on the Cross that we may possess the Fruit of the Spirit. If Jesus had not gone to the Cross, none of this would be available to anyone. Because it is an all-inclusive Fruit (Benefit) we can’t dissect it and choose which part we want and discard the rest. That is not God’s intention for this Benefit.
Imagine a piece of fruit that contains nine different vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. When you eat the fruit, you receive all nine. You cannot pick which ones you want. It is an all-in-one, nutrient-packed piece of fruit. And so it is with the Fruit of the Spirit. It contains nine Benefits for the believer, and we can be the recipients of all nine when we seek the Holy Spirit’s Teaching, Guidance, Counseling and Direction.
It’s an amazing Benefit that will totally reshape our lives if we claim it as our own and understand that it is available to us ONLY because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary.
